Pirkle Refrigerated Freight Lines was established in 1957 and was based in Madison, WI.  They delivered refrigerated goods through eleven different states from East to West by owner operators.  One of the owner operators that ran with Pirkle through the golden years of trucking was the Van Hulzens.

The Van Hulzens have been a part of the trucking industry since the 1940's hauling grain in Minnesota.  Their trucks have always run the traditional red, black, and silver colors since 1968.  They hauled for Pirkle for less than ten years through the 70's and 80's when cross country trucking was in its prime.  Their Peterbilt Model 359 remains to be one of the most iconic owner operator trucks that worked for Pirkle.

Pirkle fell apart by the late 80's, but the Van Hulzen's kept on trucking to this very day.  Pirkle has helped shape the legacy of Van Hulzen's family trucking business.
